I receive interview requests quite often. Usually it is a request to comment on current events, or for my expertise on intelligence or investigations. Since the Trump assassination attempt, interview requests have kept me busy.
But awhile back I got a different type of interview request. I was contacted by Antonio Aloia, Editor-in-Chief of MAYTT, Martial Arts of Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow. He asked to interview me on my long martial arts career.
I love martial arts, so I loved talking about martial arts. I was able to tell my story, my teachers' stories and some of my students' stories. And more importantly how budo has changed all of us for the better.
